POETRY FOR DREAMERS
This course is for beginners who are curious about starting to write poetry – whether you’ve never written a poem before, or you scribble all the time on the backs of shopping receipts and want to get better.
“It was so much fun! I learnt a lot in this welcoming and encouraging environment. Helpful examples. Imaginative exercises. Freedom to choose to share your work. Lovely making new friends!”

What to expect
COURSE OVERVIEW
Poetry is a craft in two senses: it does something magical with language, and it’s a skill that can be learnt. Each week, we’ll read poems from around the world that explore a shared human experience – a common theme. We’ll delve into the tactics and techniques that these writers employ. And we’ll use them as a catalyst to start new poems of our own. At the end you’ll receive a small, gorgeously printed booklet of poems written by you and your fellow poets.
We know how elusive poems can seem – how slippery and mysterious. Join us as we open windows, scatter breadcrumbs, and see if we can coax them in.
Included with the full course is a complimentary session of our online ‘A Writing Life’ programme.
We offer a limited number of concession places, and these are for anyone who would otherwise find it genuinely difficult to attend. No details necessary – just go ahead and book.
