6 WEEK COURSE FOR INTERMEDIATE WRITERS
DEVELOP YOUR STORY
Have you ever started writing a novel or short story, but found it hard to finish? Whether you’ve got a full draft in need of editing, or just a few chapters sitting on your laptop, this practical and focused course is for you.
What to expect
COURSE OVERVIEW
The first half of each session will examine a critical element of successful story-telling. You’ll learn about the theory behind each technique, explore extracts from modern fiction to see how celebrated writers achieve their effects, and undertake short writing exercises. In the second half of each session, 2 members of the group will be invited to share a passage of their own fiction for a guided feedback session. Responding like an editor to other people’s writing is one of the best ways to improve your own! And we keep group sizes small, so we can guarantee that your writing will be workshopped at least twice.
Included with the full course is a complimentary session of our online ‘A Writing Life’ programme.
We offer a limited number of concession places, and these are for anyone who would otherwise find it genuinely difficult to attend. No details necessary – just go ahead and book.
